Madrid, 22 February 2013.\u00a0The Spanish association that promotes top quality serrano ham abroad, Consorcio del Jam\u00f3n Serrano Espa\u00f1ol, now has even more members thanks to the incorporation of four new companies: Embutidos Espa\u00f1a, Jamones El Castillo, Jamones Centelles and Juli\u00e1n Mairal.<\/p>\n

Consorcio del Jam\u00f3n Serrano Espa\u00f1ol is characterised by 22 years of experience and it is recognised worldwide for exporting top quality serrano ham. That is why it is considered to be the sector’s reference point for other Spanish companies that consider exporting to be the perfect opportunity to get onto foreign markets. Its strategy is based on distinguishing itself for being a top class brand and having a powerful international sales campaign for its ConsorcioSerrano seal of approval.<\/p>\n

These 4 companies joined this project, having satisfied the quality requirements established by Consorcio del Jam\u00f3n Serrano Espa\u00f1ol. Moreover, the association has inspected their facilities, production plants, processes and their products to make sure their ham is up to standard and is worthy of bearing the ConsorcioSerrano seal of approval.<\/p>\n

The new members are distinguished for being important companies within the meat sector, ones that have a long culinary tradition. Jamones Centelles is located in Centelles, a town in Barcelona. It specialises in a wide variety of sliced meat products and it has one of the latest cured-ham boning lines in Europe.<\/p>\n

Juli\u00e1n Mairal was set up more than 60 years ago in Barbastro, a municipality of Huesca. Its quality products are the result of its extensive knowledge of the raw material and the expertise that goes into processing it. The third generation of the family business stays true to the company’s original identifying traits even today.<\/p>\n

Embutidos Espa\u00f1a is based in the town of Escalonilla, in the province of Toledo, and after more than two decades in the sector, it is now investing into new meat slicer lines and expanding its facilities. The company has been awarded numerous official certificates within the sector.<\/p>\n

As for Jamones El Castillo, it was established in 1930 in Nore\u00f1a, a town in Asturias. It is a family business that exclusively prepares and cures first class serrano and Iberian ham. Its production processes and the quality of its products are recognised internationally; it was one of the first Spanish companies to be officially approved by the European Community and certified to produce serrano ham with the label TSG (Traditional Specialities Guaranteed).<\/p>\n

\u201cThe incorporation of new members is a great boost for our project, they believe in our values and this consolidates our position within the sector.
