This last week of May, representatives of our organization will travel to Mexico to develop targeted actions for the Aztec country in order to respond to the needs of the market and its characteristics.
With 1.145 tons imported last year, Mexico is consolidated as the first objective outside the European Union for the export of both Spanish cured ham and palette, according to the data provided by the Spanish Tax Agency, information that our organization has analyzed.
Actions with the professional and distribution channels are the main core of our project, searching the further strengthen of our quality seal ConsorcioSerrano in the market. During our trip, we will train dealers about the Ham Universe and we will offer them Serrano ham carving lessons with the Master Ham Carver, Jesús Parra.
Moreover, in collaboration with the Mexican Restaurant Association (AMR), we will develop specialized courses to certify autochthonous Serrano Ham Carvers. The applicants, to be able to participate in the course, have to gather the minimum requirements to be selected. Participants who complete the course successfully will be awarded with the Diploma of Master Carver approved by our organization.
Likewise, in our visit to Mexico, we will present a ConsorcioSerrano Ham Tapas Contest, which will be directed to restaurants in Mexico City and in Guadalajara. All these activities will be aimed for professionals and consumers so they can get to know in firsthand the benefits, taste and texture of such an exceptional product as Spanish Serrano Ham, backed by the quality seal of the entity.
