Within the European Union, the markets of Germany and France are undoubtedly the most important markets, in which in the period of analysis, they also achieved some notable advances in the consumption of Spanish cured ham. Within the Third Countries outside the European Union, Mexico consolidates as an attractive market for Spanish cured ham.
In reference to the turnover volume, it has also increased more than proportionally with respect to the volume increase figure, which means that the level of sales prices for exports has risen slightly. This is a sign that reflects the commitment to recognition by which foreign markets value a quality ham. For the Spanish Serrano Ham Consortium, quality ham is its symbol of identity and one of the main axes as a sustainable internationalization strategy.
